Is it impossible to be private online?

TL;DR recursive Chat GPT usage will absolutely help you. It's better and so much faster than looking up a site. It helps to create dummy config file and if you are too lazy to write stuff, it can do it for you. Just so backups from time to time and do not let it rm -rf or do any sus commands. I mean, you can even ask it for a list of commands that can break your system. As someone who's installed arch last friday on a vm. Took me ~ 3hours to get comfortable with it. And then spend Saturday and sunday allowing a tripple boot (Arch+Ubuntu+Windows). Sharing a /home un a different partition and having the same main user on both os, and then unfucking all the permissions provlem that comes with having all that and making new boot partission. Arch is great. And ChatGPT to do configs and fix problems is also great. I do not recommend arch for a first time user. I recommend Ubuntu. Use it, abandon it. Then some day maybe try to configure it. Get somewhere doing so. Eventually get pissed at how bad it's package manager is and you'll realise simply installing Arch is gonna be better.
Some smart people say „if something in the Internet is free, youre Not the customer. You are the product.“
Imagine using non-dinamic history in your shell 😂. My terminal just shows me the last 10 commands that match the current entry and updating instently. If something matches I can navigate to it and press enter.
I didn't use an adblocker until a few years back, I mean like 2022. I then have been on a two and a half year quest to remove all ads from everything I do and consume, basically. My computer has been free, my phone is now free... I am left with merely my TV. Honestly, I am content with that (Roku OS is a pain to crack, too). The TV is the only proper place for ads in any house. This is because there is no situation where the TV is required and cannot simply be turned off.
Thanks man this is actually an honest review I was thinking about getting a VPN but with everything you're saying I'm not going to bother
As an IT Senior and Game Dev aswell I can confirm, these laptops does have a great quality. I sold a lot of them and even my customer resold them after 10+ years and they where still working perfectly fine, only the battery 🔋 needed to be replaced, which is totally fine and very common after so many years.
We need to do less online, and do more in person.
it keeps giving me the same videos
Something that every one of this videos get wrong is that thing about "targeted ads", those aren't real. Even ad companies get scammed BC they keep showing us stupid BS that we won't even think buying. Examples: Canned beer? I never search alcohol... Washing machine soap? Like, WHY?... A Chevrolet truck? Dude, I'm POOR, STOP IT...
I tried Arch. I started with Fedora, to arch, to Manjaro and they all had the same issues. (No audio to my speakers, Nvidia drivers wouldn’t install properly, I couldn’t use my full refresh rate and a whole lot more) I’m sure I couldn’t fixed all this stuff if I wanted to spend hours and hours going through the wiki and trying stuff. But honestly, it was just tedious and I couldn’t use my computer for what I wanted to. So I switched to pop_os and have no (major) issues with it. Everything just works out of the box. Maybe I’ll try Arch again in the future. But for right now I’m happy with Pop.
that setup looks beautiful omg
Another tier list only based on privacy and security. What a disappointment. It's like they dont even try out the functionality of each browser and how much each keeps up with multiple tabs. Useless tier list... And no, I dont think people are wondering why privacy is important. You would have to think people are dumb to think that. People are obviously concerned about the functionaility and customisability of each browser in comparison to others. Way to waste an opportunity to create a helpful video 😑
Whille safari Claim to be 10x faster than Chrome😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My work PC is a Thinkpad. Sadly I can't use it privately, because the bios got locked by the company, there is only 1 sata slot for the ssd and no access panel. I would have bought a 2nd drive to dual boot off of it, but I'd have to open the whole case, that was not worth it for me :/ But my brother now got a used one for personal use, while he and his SO both have one for work lol
nice
One thing that’s super annoying, is that on the mobile version of UA-cam, the ads are placed in a way where they’re SUPER easy to tap accidentally. I’ve accidentally opened so many ads just by accidentally rotating my phone and tapping the ad space at the wrong time.
{ pkgs, ... }: let iUseNixOSBtw = pkgs.writeShellScriptBin "iUseNixOSBtw" '' echo I use NixOS btw ''; in { environment.systemPackages = [ iUseNixOSBtw ]; }
Making Easy Share on Samsung difficult to turn off blew my anger fuse.
5:00 My family who has a lock on every door in the house: 😅
anime is for spiritual cucks. European western culture is all that matters, you are cringe.
FF is awesome
Whatever you say, Mr. Adobe
Old thinkpads yes. New no
Through the use of extensions and setting changes, which really aren’t that hard to set up. Even for someone that has never done anything in any settings menu, or installed any extension to any browser ever, it takes at most 10 minutes. And it takes Firefox from pretty good in terms of privacy, (at least compared to other browsers) to one of the best excluding tor and stuff similar to it.
Krita is a wonderful painting software. Save your ideas for yourself and your money for the greedy corporation called Adobe.
Server side is nuts Wonder If router injected and sifted using filtered dns would work Not sure how to splice vids and trash the ads like splicing MAD or ytp And instead donate directly like in FOSS github apps gitlab codeberg etc.
Big tech was not private to begin with never was and never will be. If you want privacy use a pencil and paper
Not enough money for these projects. It's impossible to compete
Thank you so much!
In windows world msi titan and razor are the only ones with solid build quality others are fragile after 4 years use
GIMP really filtered this man.
Aight i guess im gonna get adblock and only specifically for malware ads.
adblockers aint going anywhere especially how Firefox users gonna skyrocket if google bans adblockers
The closest that I've gotten is self-hosting. But even then, still have to be able to trust the hardware you buy...
I got my thinkpad E480 for 115 dollars only in a bidding contest. A core i5 8th gen, 16gb memory with ssd and hdd drive. I need a lot of heavy testing and thinkpad just works for me. It’s kindaheavy but it really looks like a heavy duty laptop.😆 I also used an old thinkpad in my first job as tech support so lots of troubleshooting and testing happens 13 years ago and it finished the job without any problems…❤❤❤
I wouldn’t even be mad if the ads actually gave me what I wanted because I probably buy some thing every four days and if at least one of the ads I saw I was for what I wanted I would consider that a win, but apparently even after sucking up every bit of information about me these dip shit still don’t understand that I don’t wanna buy a brand new car for 50 grand
Instagram is unusable - ALL my ads are AI fakes -Usaully crypto cons - Oh and MrBeast - can fuck off
With Wine and steams new ProtonDB gaming on Linux is really not an issue stopping me from moving over anymore, but the lack of compatibility of adobe tools among other software is the only thing really stopping me at this point..
After doing LFS, I will absolutely use pacstrap at the very least. Also, it was definitely super easy and quick to install compared to LFS. Feels like a breath of fresh air.
Pi hole
fuck it, im in 2 spectrums now
I actually only stay on websites that have few adds or at least adds that don’t pop up like every second 😅
i have installed arch manually like 10 times, i have the entire installation memorized at this point and I just use archinstall to not waste time now
Honestly, this was what made me initially not care about privacy. That all I’d see online are either snake oil salesmen selling privacy placebos at best, or people telling me that I should take the most extreme measures possible for privacy. In the end, you’ve kinda helped me to realize that moderation is key, and that I need to recognize what’s right for me.
I am commenting over TOR, I have no reason to, I just think it is funny that I am using 3 layer encryption to watch benign UA-cam videos, it is also funny to think of someone spying on me, finally finding me, and finding out that I watch benign videos and am occasionally a man of culture.
very helpfull thanks
Cuz I was about to be kill due to sick rich people putting their nose where should not be?
Take it easy.
Reported for turning off your addblock, you should NEVER do that, no matter what
